VICTORIA Stainburn ran an exceptional race for Otley Athletic Club on Sunday in the Baildon Boundary Way Trail Half Marathon, as she secured the second-highest female finish.

She completed the course in well under two hours, with a time of 1hr 43mins and 23secs. She appeared remarkably relaxed during her run, even finding time to smile for the cameras!

Meanwhile, at the John Newsome Memorial Open in Wakefield on the same day, some of the region's younger female athletes excelled in multiple events.

Lucy Tyrer secured second place in the U13 girls long jump with a mighty leap of 4.06 metres, while she also finished on the podium in the 100m, coming third in a time of 14.44.

She just missed out on a top three finish in the 200m, coming fourth in 29.70. She missed out on the bronze by just 0.02 seconds.

Her fellow Skyrac teammate Alice Tyrer also shone in several different events. She finished sixth in the U11 girls long jump with a distance of 3.07m and seventh in the shot put with a throw of 4.49m.

She also ran well in the 75m sprint, coming 15th in a time of 12.97.

Otley AC's Kitty Quin also performed well in the track and field events at Wakefield. She missed out on a medal in the U11 girls 600m by less than a second, crossing the line in fourth place with a time of 2.03.89.

Her leap of 2.98m in the long jump was enough to secure her seventh place in that discipline while she managed ninth place in the 75m race with a run of 12.42.
