AIRECENTRE Pacers member Jenny Mynett has gradually been increasing her distance runs through 2017, and chose the beautiful but challenging Eryri Snowdonia Marathon as her first 26-miler.

The course around Wales' highest mountain takes in two very challenging ascents at Beddgelert and Llanferis, with the field climbing into the mist-shrouded peaks on both climbs.

Jenny finished her inaugural marathon in 4hr 47min and described the route as “gorgeous but damn hard".

Mohammad Abubakr was the first Pacer to finish in the Guy Fawkes ten-miler at Ripley.

Mo crossed the finish line in 1hr 12min 52sec, finishing just outside the top 100.

Close behind were John Tate in 1.18.06, Sally Haigh (eighth in category) in 1.20.16 and Simon Nutbrown in 1.21.55.

In the popular Abbey Dash 10k, no fewer than 46 Pacers turned out on a cold but bright Leeds morning.

Andrew Smith led the Pacers home with a personal best of 35min 34sec, followed by Andrew Humphries 37.02 PB, Richard Walker 39.26 PB, Dave Cusack 42.45 PB, Chris Larkins 44.06 PB, Paul Grindley 44.19 and Peter O’Neill 50.34.

As the above figures suggest, the flat and fast Kirkstall route returned a plethora of personal-best performances for the Pacers, with others coming from Andy Gledhill, Karen Kempton, Louise Kirwin, Cathy Brown, Jo Larkins, Denis Callaghan, Vicky Hawley, Carmen Ayesha, Donna Stansfield, Linda Lofthouse, Mel Brabiner-West and Sarah Chrisanthou.
