OTLEY AC’s Robin Outtersides finished seventh in the Bradford 10k on Sunday, completing the race in 35 min 40sec.

Over in Thirsk, strong winds made for challenging conditions as club president, Billy Rayner took part in the ten mile race finishing in 1:26:51.

Rogan Ashton was first home for Otley AC in 1:03:34 followed by Eriks Zvaigne (1:23:01) and Ged Peacock (1:25:43) The race was won by Graham Rush (Cheltenham Harriers) in 50:36 and first lady was Faye Banks (Pontefract AC) 1:01:04.

Howard Jeffery returned to the duathlon scene on Saturday, racing at Clumber Park in a qualifying race for the world age group championships in Canada later in the year and next year’s European championships.

He completed the 10km run – 40km bike – 5km run in 2:30:31 to qualify automatically.

At Rivock Edge fell race, Graham Lake finished seventh in a time of 1:01:33.

This 10.1km race takes in 255m of ascent and covers towpath, cow fields, woodland and moors, which, when added to the stormy weather conditions, created a more challenging race than usual.

Antonio Cardinale also braved the tough conditions completing it in 2:28.

The winner was Joe Baxter of (Pudsey & Bramley) in 54.22 and the first woman to finish was Rachel Pilling (Pudsey & Bramley) in 1:05.47.
