OTLEY Athletic Club members turned out in force to the Burnsall Feast on Saturday, ready to participate in the fell race or the ten-mile road race.

Weather conditions were much better than forecast, and the black and whites were led home by Steve Robinson in 1:11:28, with Andy Webster (1.21:30), Tom Hannah (1.32:43), Andrew Rayner (1.34:24), Rob Fearnley (1.36:23) and Antonio Cardinale (1.54:02) following.

The race was won in 55min 57sec by Thomas Corrigan (Barlick Fell Runners), and the first lady was Sarah Cumber (Halifax Harriers & AC) in 1:05:00.

The fell race – a short, steep and potentially dangerous attraction – gained a similar following, with Liam Dunne coming in first for the club and as third V40 (19:06).

Matt Podd (26:25), Caron Ralph (25:35), Colin Best (26:43), Serena Blackburn (27:41) and Andy Sumner (28:13) also finished well.

The race was won by Ted Mason (Wharfedale Harriers) in 14:58, with Helen Glover (Keighley & Craven AC) the first female in 19:16.

Tom Lynch took raced in the Pendle Three Peaks, a 16-kilometre fell race with 870 metres of ascent, based around the last part of the Tour of Pendle route.

The race consisted of a series of long, steep climbs up the different sides of Pendle, which made for a challenging race.

Lynch finished 110th out of 229 starters in 01:39:52. The winner of the men’s race was Sam Tosh (Rossendale Harriers) in 01:15:41.

Howard Jeffrey entered the Escrick 10k, just outside York, finishing in 43:37 and third V60.

The race was won in 34.13 by Paul Marchant (Northern Masters) with first lady Clara Stansfield (City of Hull) in 38.05.
