JAMES Dabill rode his Vertigo machine to a clear-cut victory in the fifth round of the British Trials Championship at Aberdulais on Saturday.

Without his major rival Michael Brown competing, the Cookridge rider now has a 20-point advantage on Brown.

The next event is at Scarborough on Sunday but Brown will not be competing due to his badly injured kneecap.

Welsh champion Iwan Roberts was third ahead of Wallsend’s Billy Bolt. Yeadon-Guiseley member Sam Yeadon placed 14th.
