OLYMPIC champion Alistair Brownlee will make his first World Series appearance of the season on Sunday in Cape Town.
Alistair has missed the first three races with an ankle injury and returns with his younger brother Jonny at the top of the standings after victories in Auckland and Gold Coast.
Alistair is expected to be fresh and well prepared to perform on a course he should find to his liking.
Alistair currently holds the record for the most WTS race wins at 17, while current world champion Javier Gomez and Jonny Brownlee both have ten.
Gomez’s Spanish compatriot Mario Mola has had a fine start to the season. He won the first race at Abu Dhabi and was second at Gold Coast.
South Africa’s Richard Murray, Henri Schoeman and Wian Sullwald will all get a chance to race on home soil this weekend. Murray is in good form and was third at Abu Dhabi.
