Ilkley’s runners had trained hard and it paid off, all finishing in the top half of the 36,000 field.

Georgia was selected to run in the under -17 women’s Mini Marathon, which is the last three miles of the main course.

She was 14th overall in 17:33 helping the Yorkshire and Humberside under-17 women's team to take first place.

Under-25 runner Rob Cunningham had followed a particularly gruelling training schedule, including hill reps on Ilkley Moor, and this paid dividends with an excellent 3h13:46. Alison Bennett was running for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, raising over £600.

Her training included running from Ilkley to Burnsall to compete in a fell race and this helped her run an impressive 3h31:55.
