Lizzie Armitstead and the Brownlee brothers will compete in a special one-off edition of the BBC’s Superstars multi-sports challenge show.
They are in a star-studded field of 16 Great Britain Olympians who will take part in eight events – 100m and 800m runs, javelin, 50m swim, archery, kayak race, cycling hill-climb and gym tests.
The field includes Olympic 5,000 and 10,000m champion Mo Farah, boxer Nicola Adams – a former student at Bradford College – and Hebden rower Andy Hodge who won his second Olympic gold medal this year.
“It is so exciting to be a contestant on Superstars,” said Armitstead. “I am sure the experience will be great fun and am looking forward to testing my skills against other amazing athletes.”
Alistair Brownlee said: “Let’s see if we can repeat our London 2012 achievements and get two Brownlee brothers on the Superstars podium.”
Jonny Brownlee added: “Having Alistair taking part in Superstars as well doesn’t faze me, this is not triathlon, there will be no team tactics, but we will be competitive, let the best brother win!”
Gabby Logan will present the show on Saturday, between 6.45-8.15pm on BBC One.
