lkley’s Siân Morgan, pictured, returned to her home county last weekend to compete at the British Universities Swimming Championships in Sheffield.

This was her first competition representing Edinburgh University where she is studying Chemistry. Siân finished on the podium with bronze medals in the 800m freestyle with a time of 8.48 and in the 200m butterfly with a personal best time of 2.13.

She just missed a medal by 6 hundredths of a second in the 400m freestyle to claim fourth position. Siân also swam the fly leg in the medley relay that came second and she lead off in the freestyle relay that came fourth.

Overall Edinburgh University came in third position behind the powerhouses of British University swimming, Loughborough and Bath.

Siân thoroughly enjoyed the Championships and said, ‘It was a great weekend, I loved swimming out for the University of Edinburgh and it was amazing to be a part of such a team!’
