Leaders Yeadon maintain unbeaten record

Yeadon stretched their un- beaten run to 17 matches as they defeated fourth-placed Gomersal by 76 runs in the JCT600 Bradford League Division Two.

They achieved their success despite a remarkable spell of bowling from Gomersal’s slow left-arm spinner Chris Rhodes.

He opened the bowling and returned the impressive figures of 15-13-7-3, but despite his efforts Yeadon still managed to make 190-8.

Tariq Mehboob led the way with an unbeaten 57, while Oliver Halliday (53) and Ben Elvidge (34) added valuable runs.

Gomersal were dismissed for a disappointing 114 in reply as Nick Hudson picked up 5-10.

Skipper Adam Greenwood and Jack Seddon both made 31 for Gomersal.

Second-placed Baildon are 12 points behind Yeadon after defeating bottom side Brighouse by seven wickets and setting things up nicely for Saturday’s clash with the leaders at Jenny Lane.
