There was no joy for Guiseley's Debbie Flood in the women's quadruple sculls final at Eton Dorney this afternoon.

After squeezing into their final, Flood, Melanie Wilson, Frances Houghton and Beth Rodford trailed in last.

Flood has twice won Olympic silver medals in the event - in 2004 and 2008 - but the British quartet never challenged for the podium this time around.

Ukraine, who were unbeaten through the World Cup series, produced a commanding performance to win gold. World champions Germany were beaten into silver medal position with the United States taking bronze.

Women's Quadruple Sculls Final A: 1 Ukraine 6min 35.93sec, 2 Germany 6:38.09, 3 United States 6:40.63, 4 Australia 6:41.67, 5 China 6:44.19, 6 Great Britain 6:51.54.
