A colourful gathering of 270 cyclists speeding through the streets of Otley made for a stunning sight tonight in the town’s annual showpiece.
The 100-strong Elite Race is the blue riband event in the Otley Cycle Races and was won this year by Ian Wilkinson (Endura), with national road race champion Kristian House (Rapha Condor Sharp) second.
The pair finished ten seconds ahead of third-placed Daniel McClay (Hargroves) after breaking away on the final circuit.
Stuart Reid (Herbalife) was the winner of the Classic Race.
The circuit took riders through Bondgate, Burras Lane, Birdcage Walk and Gay Lane and the starting hooter was sounded by Otley track champion Lizzie Armitstead (who competed in the Classic Race) and Olympic triathlete Alistair Brownlee.
