There will be more than a touch of nostalgia at Guiseley AFC's Nethermoor Park ground on Sunday afternoon when the club's former Wembley heroes will take on the Ex-Leeds United Players X1 in a charity game to mark the Guiseley club's centenary.
Gordon Rayner, who managed Guiseley to two FA Vase finals at Wembley in the early 90s, will be back to manage the Wembley Heroes side.
This will include the likes of Peter Atkinson, Vince Brockie, Dave Morgan, Paul Bottomley, Colin Hogarth, the Roberts brothers Allan and Billy, Dean Walling and Ian Noteman.
The side will be augmented by more former Guiseley favourites such as Steve Dickinson, Simon Parke and Lutel James.
Facing them will be a wealth of former Leeds United talent including current manager Simon Grayson and his predecessor Gary McAllister as well as star strikers Bobby Davison, Andy Ritchie and Lee Sharpe.
The Leeds side is run by former Guiseley manager Neil Parsley, the current manager of Farsley Celtic, and he will be pulling on his boots to join fellow former Guiseley manager Davison in the thick of the action. Guiseley's current Reserve Team assistant manager Stuart Gray will also be involved qualifying by being the son of a former Leeds United legend Eddie Gray. The Leeds goalkeeper is also the son of a former United player, Terry Yorath's son Jordan.
The match will kick-off at 2pm and entrance is £5 adults £2.50 concessions with accmpanied children under-12 £1.
