AS a season remarkable for its soaring temperatures moved towards a climax, down came the rain and wiped out the whole Aire-Wharfe programme on Saturday.

That leaves Otley and Burley fighting for the championship in Saturday’s final round with the former on top by just two points.

In Division Two, Addingham, Tong Park Esholt and Hall Park have all to play for in their bid to join Collingham in promotion. Addingham are currently second, eight points clear of Tong Park and 10 ahead of Hall Park.

Green Lane’s hopes of escaping from Division Three still mathematically exist, but they need New Rover to lose at Alwoodley which seems unlikely.

Meanwhile, the rained off matches ended any hopes Bolton Villas had of joining the Division Two promotion race, while confirming that Calverley and Leeds Modernians will be in Division Three next season.
