RELEGATED Pool and newly-promoted Newsome fought out an entertaining West Yorkshire League Division One draw on a rock-hard pitch.
One of Pool’s toughest tests of the day was actually getting to the ground with accidents causing roads to be closed.
Once the match got under way the teams were well matched. Pool had the better chances with there determined play deserving better results.
Newsome took the lead when, despite the ball appearing to go out of play on the goal-line, the referee allowed play to continue and Dwayne Wilkinson scored.
Pool fought back well and levelled with Josh Waite scoring from close range.
The visitors should have taken the points in the second half, but were unable to convert their many opportunities.
In the end were happy to hear the final whistle as tired legs took there toll.
