THERE were no nail-biters in the second round of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League's Sir James Roberts Cup.

The closest match was holders Omar's, who beat Great Horton Church by four wickets.

Church were bowled out for 208 (Savaiz Bashir 56, Abrar Hussain 28, Mohammed Amraiz 4-20) and an unbeaten sixth-wicket partnership of 87 between Chetan Patel (40no) and Shmile Khan(49no) to back up Amraiz's 40 took Omar's to 209-6.

Bradford Gymkhana, who beat Cambing (122) by five wickets, will now host Omar's.

Girlington are also through to the quarter-finals after beating ten-man Allerton by nine wickets.

Allerton were all out for 132 (Mohammad Ramzan 42, Abid Hussain 30, Zahid Khaliq 3-11, Majid Zia 3-22), with Girlington replying with 133-1 (Rashid Mahmood 48no, Qayum 38, Khaliq 25 rtd hurt).

Greenfield, who defeated TABS by nine wickets, will now visit Girlington.

TABS were all out for 65 in 17.3 overs, with Greenfield speeding through with 67-1 in 8.3 overs.

Apperley Bridge beat Yorkshire Friends by 149 runs after making 253 in 38.3 overs, spurred on by Majid Jahangir's blistering 83 off 68 balls and Mohammed Junaid's 36 off 34 balls, with Shiraz Ahmed taking 3-43.

Friends were then all out for 104 in 29 overs, with Shakeel Ahmed top-scoring with 21 as Mohammed Khaliq took 3-16 and Tariq Rashid 3-39.

Bridge will now host last year's runners-up Bradford Moor, who beat Yorkshire LPS by 48 runs.

Moor were all out for 162, with Kabeer Hussain and Mohammed Imran each scoring 50, while Pradip Patel took 5-18.

LPS were then toppled for 114, with Mohammed Naeem taking 5-42.

Salem Athletic defeated Bowling Baptists by 142 runs after scoring a mammoth 305-5 off their 40 overs, with Mohammed Waqas (120no) and Umer Khatab (61no) sharing an unbroken sixth-wicket partnership of 147, with Khalil Ur Rehman (44) also contributing.

Baptists were all out for 163, with Azhar Ali (3-43) and Mohammed Faizaan (3-21) pegging them back.

Salem will now hoist Interlink, who beat Hallfield by 10 wickets.

Hallfield were castled for 92 (Mohammed Memi 3-12), and Irfan Jamadar (71no) and Mohammed Memi (22no) hurried Interlink to victory.

In order to play in the next round, all players should have played at least three league games prior to the cup game.

In the H Broadbent Trophy for second teams, holders Salem Athletic are through to the semi-finals after beating Bradford Indians by 134 runs.

Salem scored 250-6 (Wasim Khan 78, Mohammed Awais 61) but Indians only made 116 as Yasir Khan decimated them with 7-26.

Athletic will now face Greenfield, who defeated West Bowling by 105 runs.

Greenfield opted to bat and made 172 in 23 overs (Mohammed Rafiq 3-40, Haroon Hussain 3-42) before sending West Bowling back to the pavilion for 67 in 18.2 overs (Murtaza Ali 5-10).

Bradford Gymkhana progressed by beating Allerton by 93 runs after making a healthy 250 in 39.5 overs (Mohammed Salim 63, Mohammed Saeed 45, Usman Riaz 5-46).

Allerton then made 157 in 30.2 overs, with Farhan Ullah Khan scoring 50.

Gymkhana will now face Great Horton Church, who defeated Bowling Baptists by 78 runs.

Church scored 220-7, with contributions from Abid Hussain (81) and Nazakat Ali (45) as Asad Ali bagged 4-45.

Bowling Baptists were then all out for 142 (Sajad Ahmed 4-16).

In order to play in the semi-finals, all players should have played at least four league games prior to the cup game.
