EVERGREEN Richard Gould showed his value to title-chasing Keighley as he hit an unbeaten century in their 98-run All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship Division Two win over Altofts.

Gould, who is fourth in the list of all-time Bradford League run-scorers with 15,590, made 121 not out as Keighley scored 219-4 before bowling out their rivals for 121.

Gould hit four sixes and 16 fours as he dominated the Keighley innings.

In-form Craig Wood (33) top-scored for Altofts as they wilted against the bowling of James Rogers (4-33) and Adam Greenwood (4-38).

Charith Cooray (78) and James Cooper (62) featured in a third-wicket stand of 105, which helped second-placed Wakefield St Michael’s to secure a 66-run win over bottom team Northowram Fields.

Saints made 245 all out, despite James Bennett Kear picking up four wickets for Northowram Fields.

John Lister hit a battling 62 and Dru Patel (40) but their efforts weren’t sufficient as winless Northowram Fields were dismissed for 179.

Oliver Lightfoot (4-31) and Alex Mumford (4-62) did much of the damage.

Birstall all-rounder Josh Haynes is a man in form.

He followed up his match-winning haul of six wickets in the previous game against Buttershaw St Paul’s with a century and three wickets as his side defeated second-from-bottom Liversedge by 10 wickets.

Firstly Haynes took 3-44 as Liversedge were bowled out for 183, with Will Atkin top-scoring with 47.

Haynes followed up by hitting four sixes and 11 fours in an unbeaten 106 as he joined Eric Austin (66no) in posting an unbroken opening stand of 184.

There was a tense finish at Hopton Mills, where Buttershaw St Paul’s scrambled a one-wicket win.

St Paul’s looked to be heading for defeat when they collapsed to 52-6 in response to a Hopton Mills score of 163, but wicket-keeper Jamie Robson and Jonathan Burston were in no mood to throw in the towel.

They added 94 with the seventh wicket, with Robson smashing 69 from 53 balls, with two sixes and six fours.

Burston batted patiently for his 34 before being dismissed with one run needed.

The last-wicket pair scrambled the winning run. despite the fine efforts of Michael Carroll (5-43) and Umar Abbas (4-50).

Amer Ayoub (5-70) and spinner Ben Platt (3-31) had taken the bowling honours in Mills' innings.

Ashley Mackereth was again the home side’s top scorer with 40.

Overseas player Deron Greaves hit two sixes and 10 fours in a breezy 64 not out, which sped in-form Brighouse to a six-wicket win at East Ardsley.

Greaves dominated an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 100 with Sohail Hussain (37no) as they capitalised on the earlier good work of opener Qaiser Hameed (46).

That man Greaves had earlier taken 3-29 as East Ardsley were restricted to 161-8, with Haseen Bashir top-scoring with 37.

Spen Victoria failed to build on their win over East Ardsley in the previous game as they were bowled out for 126 and suffered a four-wicket defeat at the hands of Carlton.

Nick Busby (3-26) and Arman Hussain (3-1) were the best of the Carlton bowlers, while opener Daniel White hit an unbeaten 61 to guide them to their modest target.

Michael Flathers impressed for Spen with 5-34.
