AIRECENTRE Pacers athlete Andrew Humphries had yet another cause for celebration by taking first place in the March edition of the Tatton Park 10k, coming home almost a minute ahead of his nearest competitor in a time of 37.22.

Last month, he was selected to represent the Great Britain Duathlon squad for the 2018 World Championships in Denmark and it seemed to inspire him at the weekend as he obliterated the competition.

Kate MacFarlane could also be proud of her efforts on Sunday, as she was the tenth lady home, an impressive feat on an undulating, mixed terrain course.

Owain Gwilym put in a sterling performance for the Pacers on Sunday in the eight-mile Dentdale run. He came home in eighth place, with a time of 54.03.

Club president Paul Grindley took part in the 14 mile event and was the fastest of the four Pacers that competed, breaking the two hour barrier with a time of 1.57.53.

The Spen 20 Race was won by local athlete Scott Harrington, but Jenny Mynett put in an impressive performance for the Pacers too. She crossed the line in 2.08.49.
