OTLEY cycling starlet Tom Pidcock has become a double world champion after winning the junior men's individual time trial at the UCI Road World Championship in Norway, yesterday.
The world cyclo-cross champion completed the 21.1km course in 28min 2.15 seconds and finished 12 seconds ahead of Italy's Antonio Puppio. Poland's Filip Maciejuk took third place.
Pidcock is the world, European and British national champion in Cyclo-Cross and the national circuit racing champion.
The talented 18-year-old, who also won the junior Paris-Roubaix this year, will bid to win a third world title on Friday in the junior road race where he starts as favourite.
