SALEM Athletic made it four wins in seven straight appearances in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League's H Broadbent Trophy following their 25-run victory over Cambing at Manningham Mills.

After winning the toss and opting to bat against a team who were appearing in the final for the first time in 12 years, Salem lost Waseem Khan for a duck in the first over of the game and Mohammed Hamdaan for two in the fourth, making it 5-2.

However, Shahid Iqbal joined Tahir Rashid at the crease and they put on 31 in 54 balls before rashid was run out for 22.

But Abdul Jabbar continued the fightback with a partnership of 47 in 60 balls before Haaris Khan struck with the third ball of his second spell, bowling Iqbal for 22.

Abid Ur Rehman then added 30 off 32 balls with Jabbar before being out for 20, and Jabbar soon followed for 45 to make it 122-6 in the 31st over. 

Mehr Sultan (11) added 24 in 29 balls with youngster Mohammed Sudais (20), and No 11 Rab Nawaz boosted the score to 175 with 13 off eight balls.

Cambing made a slow start in reply, with openers Rafaqat Ali and Muhammad Usman Mirza scoring 20 off the first 12 overs,with Sultan bowling five successive maidens.

Sudais' two wickets in two balls reduced Cambing to 25-2, but Mirza added 23 off 43 balls with Fahim Jan before being dismissed for 24 as the required run rate climbed.

Majid Ali and Jan put on a steady 39 runs before Jan was out for 13 to Shahid Iqbal's first ball,and Ali was then dismissed for 47 in Sudais' final over.

Wickets then fell at regular intervals as Cambing were restricted to 150-9 off their 40 overs.

Sudais was man of the match for his 4-38 and 20 off 25 balls.
