GUISELEY will be looking to continue their National League revival when they visit Wrexham on Saturday.
The Lions have lost just once in their last eight league games – 3-1 against FA Cup giant killers Lincoln City on new Year’s Day – and are now just two points from safety.
Manager Adam Lockwood is expected to give a debut to experienced midfieldman Kevan Hurst who has joined the club on loan from Mansfield Town for the rest of the season.
Hurst has a good pedigree and that could prove invaluable as Guiseley look to maintain their National League status.
The trip to the Racecourse Ground gives them a chance to avenge the 3-2 defeat the North Wales side inflicted on them in their opening home game of the campaign.
A last-minute goal sealed the Lions’ fate on that occasion, but the current side is vastly different to the one that played that night.
The management team of Adam Lockwood and David Penney have overhauled the squad in recent months with the shred acquisitions.
Players like former Leeds United midfielder Simon Walton and ex-Carlisle striker Derek Asamoha, like Hurst, have had successful Football league careers.
If Guiseley can build on their 2-1 away success at Macclesfield – their first away league win of the season – with another good result, they have the bonus of successive home games against Eastleigh and Leeds United’s FA Cup conquerors Sutton Untied, to follow.
