National League Two North: Otley 19 Sedgley Park 45

PROMOTION-chasing Sedgley Park, who were well drilled and overpowered Otley at every turn, finally brought an end to their 100 per cent home record.

It was unfortunate that the Cross Green side were missing many key players and, although they showed glimpses of their ability and speed, they could not sustain their intermittent spells of class.

A scrum following the kick-off demonstrated what was in stall, a penalty allowing Otley to clear but Park came back, winger Richard Lepori being  tackled into touch five metres out.

Otley again cleared their lines but they were finding it hard to keep control, and their defence broken on 11 minutes when prop Ben Black was driven over.

They were soon back under pressure but a loose ball on their own line was given to winger Alex Beaumont, who cut through to leave a trail of defenders in his wake to level the score.

The visitors were back ahead inside three minutes, former Otley hooker Johnathan Matthews going over for centre Matt Riley to convert, and Park moved steadily ahead with a try for winger Sam Lowthion on 33 minutes, Riley converting for a 19-5 half-time lead.

Otley had their best spell following the break, but without result, while  Park rumbled on with tries from Lepori and Riley, replacement Steve Collins converting one.

In the 71st minute, prop George Burkinshaw scored for Otley, with full back Tom Hodson converting, and the late flurry continued with Park lock Hallam Chapman and full back Andy Riley getting tries, each being converted by Collins.

In between, Otley centre Henry Roberts scored a try, with Hodson converting.
