OTLEY'S director of rugby Peter Clegg is too long in the tooth to expect anything other than a committed display from derby visitors Harrogate on Saturday in National League Two North.

The hosts may be ninth and Gate 14th but both are in form, with Otley having won four out of six (and could have won the other two) and third-from-bottom Harrogate three out of five.

Only three points separate the bottom five (Preston Grasshoppers have 18 points and Wharfedale 21), and Clegg says: "Harrogate will play with lots of pride and be desperate to move away from that relegation zone, and anyone can beat anyone in this division – even Caldy can lose."

Otley could conceivably have won their other two recent matches, and Clegg added: "I was disappointed with the result last week (a 32-25 defeat at Leicester Lions), but I was not disappointed with the performance.

"We just need to be a bit more clinical in attack and make a few less errors in defence."

Cleckheaton, who have conceded 123 points in heavy defeats to leaders Huddersfield and third-placed Wirral, have the chance to put the show on the road at home to cellar dwellers Stockport in National League Three North.

The visitors have lost all 13 matches, have yet to notch even a single league point and are shipping an average of 67 points a game while only scoring an average of six points a match.

How therefore does Cleckheaton's head coach Scott Benton guard against complacency?

He said: "You focus on the individual and making sure that they are doing their job, and hopefully the collective situation will then take care of itself."

Tom Austin is set to return at flanker and Lee Queeley is available in the centres, while it is hoped that Richard Piper will be fit enough to play at No 8.

Max Trueman, Bradford Salem's new try-scoring hero, misses their Yorkshire Division One home match against Beverley.

Also out is winger Kodie Brook, but back for the mid-table clash come flanker Callum Manchester (ankle), centre Harry Hall (knee) and back-rower Louis Chaudron (shoulder), with the latter two on the bench.

Nick Fontaine reverts from the back row to the wing, while Jake Abram is at centre, with the returning Will Collins on the bench.

Bradford Salem (home to Beverley): D Belcher; N Fontaine, J Abram, D Pearce, R Smith; A Robinson, M Booth; T O'Sullivan, A Veitch, J Bradbury, J Cunliffe, J Morrell, E Perkins, C Baines, C Manchester. Replacements: H Hall, W Collins, L Chaudron.
