AN OTLEY youngster has been selected for England's under-14 Alpine Ski Squad for the 2016-17 season.
Lucas Ellis, who attends Prince Henry’s Grammar School, is a member of the Lions Ski Club at Snozone in Castleford.
The 12-year-old's goals for the winter are “to improve and race to my full potential, to finish on the podium in the Ambition Championships (in January), the English Alpine Championships in February and the British Alpine Ski Championships in April.”
Snowsport England chief executive and British Ski and Snowboard board director Tim Fawke said: “Lucas is one of our athletes who has followed the talent pathway from his early skiing and is well on track to achieve his potential.”
Lucas will spend as much time on snow as possible this winter, as well as training regularly with Lions Ski Club.
He will also attend England Alpine squad weekends around the country.
