OTLEY AC’S Scott Harrington produced a fine performance to take third place in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday with a time of 2 hrs 28min 05sec.

Harrington, who shaved a massive four minutes off his previous best marathon time, said: “On the day, everything just went to plan – this is a dream come true.”

Also running for Otley, was new club president, Billy Rayner,who finished in 4.14:36.

In the York 10 mile race, which ran at the same time as the marathon, Peter Crowder was 46th in 63.20, Howard Jeffrey was the first Over 60 in 69.34 and Louise Penny finished in 101.48.

Tom Lynch travelled to the Lake District to take part in the Langdale Horseshoe Fell Race. Forming part of the English Championships, this 21.1 km race took in 1450 m ascent, but fantastic weather and previous experience of the course saw Lynch finish in 2.59:11.

A group of Otley runners visited Haworth for the Withins Skyline fell race. Rogan Ashton finished first in 48:28, Tom Pomfrett 52:17, Christian Hosker 59:1.1 and Andy Webster, 62:45.

Running the junior one mile Rat Runs for Otley were Jenson Brogden in 7:00, Holly Davey 7:22, Adam Powell 7:49, Jake McBrinn 7:53, Ashton Brogden 7:54.

Caron Ralph and Andrew Robertshaw took part in the Wasdale Show Fell race. Robertshaw finished in 45 minutes, with Ralph completing the gruelling 1.25 mile course with a gruelling 2400ft of ascent in 1:19:51.

Liam Dunne competed in the Laois Intermediate Cross Country race in Ireland finishing in second place.
