HENRY Wilson hit a six off the last available ball to clinch a stunning win for Ilkley over Division One leaders Beckwithshaw.

In a match reduced to 21 overs per side, Beckwithshaw posted a stiff 160-6 target, which started to look makeable after Ilkley openers Ian Chaplin (32) and Ben Pengelley (57) put on 80 at ten an over.

A useful 30 between Pengelley and Will Spivey (17) kept hopes high but wickets were starting to run out until Nick Cockcroft (20no) and Wilson (12no) smashed 20 in the last two and a half overs to clinch victory.

It seemed both the top two were heading for defeat when Mark Gilliver (44) led the way as Pool declared on 228-9 and had Otley struggling on 162-9. But the game was then abandoned and Otley picked up enough points to go level with Beckwithshaw. Jamie Pickering was the pick of the Otley batting with 69.

Burley moved up to third, replacing North Leeds after beating them by 49 runs. Sam Owen (50) and a quick-fire century stand between Ed Brown (81no) and Jason Wright (45) helped Burley to 213-5 and Abbas Ahmed, who finished with 4-41, broke the North Leeds innings when he picked up two wickets in two balls when they were on 20.

With Toby Jacklin taking 8-42, Horsforth were restricted to 153 at Collingham but Ryan Sharrocks (5-50) swung the match and Collingham were dismissed for 148, renewing Horsforth’s title challenge.

Stephen Pearson (3-25) and Paul Hardwick (4-55) bowled out Kirkstall for 183 in the battle between the bottom two but despite a gutsy, unbeaten 49 from Pearson, Steeton fell 21 short.

After a solid start, Rawdon’s tail collapsed and Bilton cruised to a six-wicket win.

A 6-20 spell from Marcus Brown limited Colton to 151-9 but for once Guiseley’s batting let them down, Mike Truswell top-scoring with 24 as they collapsed at 61 and saw their opponents take over their top spot in Division Two.

With Addingham’s game against Harden rained off, Knaresborough moved up to third with an easy nine-wicket win over Thackley, who managed only 89 runs.

Alex Miller twice picked up two wickets in an over on his way to 5-27 as Adel were restricted to 117-8 but Ben Rhydding managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when, after Louis Bolton (37) was out at 54-2, they crashed out for 98.

Pieter Coetzer (5-66) is on a hat-trick with his first ball of the next game after he starred as Follifoot were dismissed for 206. He also top-scored in Skipton’s reply with 62 but found little support as the visitors went down by 20 runs.

Division Three leaders Hall Park took just 32 minutes to reach their target after Jonathan Postle (5-34) and Mark McEneaney (4-26) bowled out Upper Wharfedale for 61.

McEneaney crashed five fours and two sixes in his 40no as he made sure rain wouldn’t get in the way of the win.

Dhruv Jain (29) and Nadeem Hanif (4-13) were the Menston heroes as they pulled off a shock win over Leeds Modernians and that allowed Tong Park Esholt to take over second spot with a victory at Bardsey.

A sparkling 57 in 24 balls from Muhammad Khan was the highlight of Park’s 204 total, which saw the last three four wickets put on 146.

Bardsey could only manage 168 in reply with Mahir Ali (3-43) and Nick Flood (3-19) leading the way.

Set a 126-7 target by New Rover, Green Lane made a solid start through Andy Lee (47) and despite a blip in the middle of the innings, they eased to victory thanks to Michael Abbott (31no) and Azhar Mehmood (23no).

An unbeaten partnership of 93 between Tom Smallwood (48no) and Scott Sanderson (42no) saw Olicanian to 130-3 and with Bernard Hughes

(4-25) and Harry Smallwood (3-32) in control, Bolton Villas were bowled out for 96.
