National League Two North: Sandal 34 Otley 12
STILL unable to find their form, Otley went down to a fifth successive defeat, three of which, including this, being teams fighting relegation.
The sequence started with a 27-26 home defeat to champions Macclesfield, but Sandal had the edge throughout here, fly half Greg Wood going over in the fifth minute and adding the conversion.
He also converted centre Simon Frewin's score six minutes later, and that of flanker James Briscoe.
Beginning to get into the game, Otley replied when centre Michael Coady sliced through the cover to score, skipper Stephen Depledge converting, but a Wood penalty just before the break made it 24-7.
Seven minutes into the second half, Otley got winger James Wood away, but they could make no further impression, and in the 56th minute, Briscoe picked up the four-try bonus point when he crossed for his second.
Wood kept his 100 per cent success with the conversions, and showed why he is among the division's highest scorers when he kicked a second penalty just before the final whistle.
