GUISELEY go into Saturday’s home game with fellow National League new boys Bromley looking to end their run of three straight defeats.

Having been beaten by the highly-fancied trio of Cheltenham, Eastleigh and Tranmere, boss Mark Bower is keen for his side to put points on the board.

But he has warned his team not to expect an easy ride against a Bromley side who have made a good start to the season.

“We have not played them before but we have done our homework and had them watched so we go in knowing what to expect from them,” said Bower.

“They have come up and done well. They are in the top half of the league and pushing for the top five.

“It will be a real tough test for us and we can’t go into the game thinking, because we have played three of the really fancied teams, now that we have got Bromley, that it will be any different. It will be just as tough, if not tougher.”

With no midweek game, Bower has had the opportunity to work with his squad this week and he is hopeful that some of his injured players will be fit enough to come into contention for selection.

Bower, who gave a debut to on-loan Torquay United defender James Hurst in Saturday’s agonising 2-1 defeat at Tranmere Rovers, believes there are good things for his team to take into the Bromley clash. “We have had three tough games against Cheltenham, Eastleigh and Tranmere, three teams I think who will finish in the top five, two away from home.

“It has been a tough run and I was disappointed not to get anything out the games, but there are plenty of positives to take from the performances despite the defeats.

“Yes, a few lessons about being ruthless have been taught, but we know from what we have shown in the last three games and the Welling and Barrow games before them, that we can create chances and score goals.

“We have got to take that into the Bromley match, get back on track, end this little run and get some points on the board.”
