THE Aire-Wharfe League clinched the West Yorkshire Area Cricket Council Cup with an emphatic ten-wicket win over the Bradford Evening League at the picturesque Booth Cricket Club ground in Halifax.
The Evening League's decision to bat first looked unwise as they were reduced to 11-3. Charlie Davy (28) and Scott Etherington (21) hinted at a recovery but once they were parted the innings went into decline. Nicky Bulcock and Harry Smallwood both took 3-27 as the Bradford side were dismissed for 123.
Otley's Josh Atkinson and Ben Morley made a brisk start as they progressed at six an over for the first ten overs before picking up the tempo with 15th in the 11th over, 16 in the 12th and ten in the 14th to secure a ten-wicket win.
Atkinson made 53 not out from 42 balls with 11 fours and three sixes, while Morley made 70 not out from 41 balls after hitting three sixes and 11 fours
Aire-Wharfe team: Josh Atkinson, Ed Brown, Nicky Bulcock, James Davies, Ollie Hardaker, Ben Morley, George Myers, Bradley Reeve, Harry Smallwood, Robert Spivey, Bailey Worcester.
