DYNAMO made a spirited start to the new campaign with an entertaining Wharfedale Triangle League Premier Division draw against a team which won the Division One title last season.
Dynamo started well with Sam Stanfield making an impressive debut on the right. The defence was well marshalled by both Ollie Blair and the outstanding Ross Wilson, with the evergreen Rob Powell, in the Dynamo goal, producing a variety of notable saves.
There was much hussle and pressure from both teams with Dom Grimes and Danny Bott working tirelessly in central midfield for the home side.
A string of crisp passing movements failed to provide a breakthrough as the game became deadlocked. The second half was full of zip and confidence but neither team created any real spark until Ryan Harwood put the visitors ahead on the hour. Dynamo rallied and hogged possession late on in an effort to salvage an equaliser. Tom Rennolds and Danny Henderson helped to create a number of chances before the heavy pressure eventually resulted in a penalty which Tom Higman tucked away.
