RYAN Gladwin and Anthony Gilks clinched an unlikely victory for Rawdon in a high-scoring thriller against Ilkley.

Rory Kroon (62no) shared a 165-run, fourth-wicket stand with Alex Bailey, who smashed 104 in 95 balls to take Ilkley to 261-5.

That looked to be a match-winning total when Rawdon lost two wickets at 67 but Kuda Samunderu steadied things with a well-crafted 83.

He and Gladwin moved things back towards Rawdon but they faced another crisis when Rob Spivey dismissed Andrew Doidge and Jake Hodges in the same over.

Rawdon were 55 short of victory with eight overs and two wickets left but Gilks provided the support needed by Gladwin, whose half-century included six fours and two sixes, and they clinched the win with an over to spare.

There was another tight finish at Steeton, where Guiseley appeared about to register their first win of the campaign after Peter Towner (78) put them within touching distance of the home side’s 172.

But James Freebury took three wickets in 1.4 overs without conceding a run to dismiss Guiseley ten runs short of victory.

Ricky Halloran picked up 4-45 and Sam Blake 3-45 as Kirkstall were out for 203 but Otley's batting faltered as they went down to their first defeat of the season.

Meanwhile, Beckwithshaw made short work of Burley, their 89-run win putting them 14 points clear at the top of the table.

Green Lane took over at the top of Division Two, with Waleed Akhtar (133) and Asif Yusef (54) starring in their 235-7, which Thackley never looked like matching.

Harden made 181-8 but Leon Harber (54) and Ryan Sharrocks (45no) saw Horsforth to a five-wicket win, while Charlie Swallow hit 60 as Ben Rhydding chased Pool’s 220-2 but his side still fell 43 runs short.

Silsden scored 240-9 but it still wasn’t enough for a first win. Will Atkins (43) laid the foundation of Addingham’s reply and Ricky Palacio (98no) and Laurie O’Connor (68no) clinched the win with seven wickets in hand.

That keeps Adddingham hot on the heels of Alwoodley, who beat Hall Park by 121 runs, despite the efforts of James Carlill and Bev Williams, who each picked up four wickets.

Menston never recovered from losing their first three wickets for nine, Bolton Villas passing their 124 with two wickets to spare.

Olicanian climbed out of the bottom two with a decisive win over Calverley.

Scott Sanderson (47), Harry Smallwood (46) and William Pearson (41no) starred in their 200-8 before Bernard Hughes (4-46) and Harry Smallwood (3-9) skittled Calverley for 113.
