Ilkley Dynamo 7 Menston 1

LEADING scorer Phil Thommesen scored four times as Dynamo surged to a convincing Premier Division win.

The champions got off to a great start with Thommesen scoring two early goals and they never looked back.

An energetic opening quarter followed, with Dynamo playing some excellent penetrative football against a vulnerable Menston defence. Influential midfield contributions from Oli Blair and Danny Kenna helped to pile on the pressure. Menston defended with great vigour but were short on attacking ideas.

Dynamo pushed forward with confidence and further goals from Danny Bryan and two by Craig Bentham, who gave another sublime performance as captain, helped to keep the momentum going.

Key performances from Simon Walker and Ben Cater ensured any breakaways from the visitors were kept in check and Ross Wilson asserted himself well as Dynamo continued to attack with ease.

The hard working Marcus Tan did manage to pull a goal back for Menston, just before the power and style of Thommesen was again evident for Dynamo, when he plundered two more goals.

Another high-quality performance from Dynamo had ensured a comfortable victory against a side that defended bravely in a one-sided encounter.
