COOKRIDGE'S James Dabill won the penultimate event in the RT Keedwell Group British Trials Championship on Saturday at Lustleigh in Devon to take the overall crown.

The victory over holder Michael Brown put Dabill in the driving seat for the following day's final trial, which he also won.

After a run of low entries at their trials, Horsforth Motor Club hit the jackpot on Sunday at Greenhow, where 64 competitors converged on popular Dry Gill for the sixth Novice and Beginners' Trial.

The three main course classes were strong, and there were also lucky 13 small-wheelers on their own six-section, four-lap course.

Keighley schoolboy Joe Fox rode the entire 40-section hard course without losing any marks, but had to share the honours with Pontefract adult Phillip Frizzell.
