Guiseley have consolidated their place in the Skrill Conference North play-off places and, even though they face a stern test on Saturday when they travel to the side immediately above them, they have a huge boost to propel them.

Manager Mark Bower and his assistant Danny Boshell have agreed new deals with the club and have been confirmed, along with physio Martin Stringfellow, as the men to take charge of the team for next season.

Three big wins on the trot have moved the Lions into fifth place and seen them open up a three- point cushion but with five games remaining they face a battle before confirming their place in the end-of-season extras.

A win at Hednesford Town on Saturday would take them above their hosts, and possibly above Altrincham into third spot if Lee Sinnott’s men slip up.

It is one of just two away games Guiseley have in their remaining five fixtures, so Bower is hoping for a positive result - but has warned his players as to how tough the task will be.

The Lions boss said: “Out of the top five, apart from ourselves, Hednesford are the form team. It will be a very difficult game but the way we are playing it should be one we relish.

“Hopefully we can go down there and play as well as we have been doing over recent weeks. It will be extremely difficult but maybe we can get a result.

"We have put ourselves in a good position but there is still work to do. We need a few more wins before we’re in the play-offs.”
