In a quiet week for Otley AC the club’s first handicap race of the year, the Nick Hodgkinson Harewood race, took top spot with David Cattanach winning in 43:56.

Second in the 4.25-mile race was Neil Reed in 44:05 followed by Carol Armit- stead in 44:18, while fastest non-handicap time went to Steve Robinson in 30:36.

The next event in the series is on February 15, a 6.1-mile race based around Eccup Reservoir.

The club’s Runner of the Month accolade for December has been jointly awarded to Caron Ralph and Shane Ewen, with a special mention for Graham Lake.

Caron had a busy December sneaking in just under the hour in the Chevin Chase, and then five days later running the Auld Lang Syne in 67:35.

Earlier in December she came fourth in the Ken Dixon Handicap to claim third spot in the Eric Smith Handicap Trophy, as well as completing the Really Wild Boar Fell Race in 67:18.

Shane started the month with the Mytholmroyd Fell Race, finishing 27th in 58.44, then completed the Stoop Fell Race in 39:03 to claim 56th spot and finished the year coming 107th in the Auld Lang Syne race in 56:10.
