Guiseley's New Year's Day game with Harrogate Town is called off

Wharfedale Observer: Guiseley boss Mark Bower Guiseley boss Mark Bower

Guiseley's New Year's Day home match against Harrogate Town has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

It was called off after a 10.15am inspection of the saturated Nethermoor pitch.

Guiseley's home fixture with Gainsborough Trinity also fell victim to the recent wet weather last Saturday.

The loss of two attractive home fixtures during the festive period is a blow to the club's coffers as they would have been expecting good crowds.

The next match for Mark Bower's men is the tough trip to Skrill North promotion chaser Brackley on Saturday when they the Lions will be aiming to extend their 15-game unbeaten run.
