Pool 2 Otley Town 0

Pool came out on top in this often scrappy quarter-final played in extremely difficult conditions.

James Carroll, Temilada Ajimoko, Ian Noble and Andy Graham in the Pool defence kept the Town strike force at bay, whilst terrier Jordan Wagstaff fought for everything in midfield.

It was no more than Pool deserved when Michael Jordan put them in front midway through the first half.

Graham doubled the lead before the interval, and, had Matty White not lost his footing with an open goal beckoning on the stroke of half-time, the match could have been over.

As it was Town, came out fighting in the second half, but still lacked sharpness in attack.

However, a late header from close range should have been put away which would have made for an interesting finale.

The best move of the match saw Noble’s superb low cross being headed just wide by the diving Jordan.

Pool now travel to Otley Rovers on January18.
