Otley’s athletes enjoyed themselves in the ever-popular Leeds Abbey Dash.

With near perfect weather cond- itions for running, plenty of Otley AC runners went home happy with their personal best times.

Among them Liam Dunne, Racheal Bamford, Graham Lake and Richard Smith.

Another gaining a personal best was Sean O’Halloran, who said: “Keeping up a relatively fast pace (for me), the race went really quick and it wasn’t long before I was turning around at Kirkstall Abbey and heading for home.

“The final 5k was slightly downhill and I knew a good time was coming up. Just after the 9k mark we had to go up over the inner ring road where there was a bit of a hill but directly after that the finish was in sight.

“I managed to cross the line in 58:35 which was a PB by about 90 seconds.”

The winner was Matt Hynes (North York Moors) in 29:23 and the first lady was Louise Damen (Winchester) in 33:04.
