Nick Holdsworth's in charge as Aireborough strangle Harrogate Pythons

Aire bounced back from their disappointing start to the SSE Yorkshire Division Three season with a bonus-point win over a well-drilled Pythons team.
The forwards worked hard against a good home pack and the backs showed enterprise against a tight defensive line.
For once, Aire started at full speed, and from the kick-off breaks by young back-rowers Will Warrington and James Exley (celebrating his 18th birthday) put Aire in the opposition 22 and good forward pressure pro-duced an early penalty for Nick Holdsworth.
Aire continued the pressure and Holdsworth produced a masterful show-and-go to slide between the defence and score.
A few minutes later, full back Tony Clitheroe broke through centrefield and put winger Scott Waterhouse away down the touchline.
He outpaced the defence and touched down under the posts for Holdsworth to convert, making it 15-0 after just 13 minutes.
However, the visitors could still not feel confident as Pythons scored a well-taken converted try before half-time.
But they undid that good work by dropping the ball from the kick-off, Holdsworth kicking it and gathering it before beating two defenders to score a try that he converted.
Holdsworth then passed to Matty Osborn, who put back-rower Jonny Mackey through a gap for another converted try, Pythons replying with a try.
Aire entertain Hemsworth on Saturday.
