Guiseley 2, Colwyn Bay 2

Guiseley could not make the most of a two-goal lead despite a return to the starting line-up for club captain Mark Bower as they dropped more points in their Blue Square Bet North promotion push.

The Lions broke the deadlock early as James Walshaw was lurking on the edge of the six-yard box to convert Wayne Brooksby’s eighth-minute centre.

Walshaw had a later effort headed off the line by a covering defender before Brooksby doubled the home side’s lead when he lashed in after a Josh Wilson free-kick had been parried by the Bay keeper.

The visitors struck back just before the break through a Michael Lea free-kick and they levelled in the second half when Michael Hopley curled a shot around home keeper Steve Drench.

Guiseley have now taken just two points from their last three games.
