The England rugby union squad are returning to Bramhope to prepare for this year’s RBS Six Nations Championship.

Coach Stuart Lancaster stunned the rugby world when he opted to use the facilities at the West Park Leeds club last season but the training camp proved such a success that he has arranged a repeat.

During their last visit Lancaster’s squad proved a big hit with local junior players who received coaching from the stars.

The England squad will train at Bramhope there between Sunday, January 20 and Friday, January 25.

They will then meet up at Pennyhill Park, Bagshot on Sunday, January 27 to prepare for England’s RBS Six Nations opener against Scotland at Twickenham on Saturday, February 2 (4pm).

Former Leeds Carnegie flanker Calum Clark (Northampton Saints) is among seven players called up to the elite squad since the previous party was announced last July, while former rugby league players Kyle Eastmond (Bath) and Joel Tomkins (Saracens) are in the England Saxons squad.

The elite squad also includes the former Prince Henry’s Grammar School pupil Danny Care (Harlequins) who played his early rugby at West Park.

England head coach Lan- caster, who coaches junior rugby at West Park, said: “The fact that we have spent significant time deliberating over quite a few players shows how tough the competition is to get into this 65.”
