Menston show will have colourful exhibits
A colourful array of paintings and crafts will be on display in Menston next week as members of the village arts club exhibit their work.
Paintings, ranging from £100 to £300, will be on sale alongside a variety of crafts, including hand-made cards, silk scarves and jewellery as part of the club's Spring exhibition.
The first of two annual exhibitions, the Spring show will be held at Kirklands Community Centre, Main Street on the weekend of May 17 and 18.
Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
A spokesman for the club said more than 40 members' framed portfolio paintings would be up for grabs at the show which starts at 10.30am on both days finishing at 5pm on Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday.
Among those due to exhibit are Gillian Wilkinson, a self taught artist, who took up painting as a hobby during retirement, Alec Denton, who makes wood or stone crafts and enjoys watercolour painting and oil painting, and Elizabeth Waterhouse who enjoys oil painting and working with pastels.
