A team who took on the National Three Peaks in less than 24 hours have raised £10,000 for charity.
Seven walkers and a driver pulled out all the stops to complete the arduous challenge, despite high winds and torrential rain.
Paul Mackie and John Waite, of Menston, and Martin Ribchester, of Guiseley, were part of a team from Bradford Chamber of Commerce that took on Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
The group undertook the gruelling test of stamina to raise money for One in A Million – a Bradford charity based at Bradford City FC’s Valley Parade ground – that offers opportunities to young people from underprivileged backgrounds.
Money raised was given an impressive boost when Paul’s wife, Paula, held a ladies’ clothing sale of donated items at their home in Menston, with goods including handbags, cocktail dresses, jewellery and coats. Homemade cakes and pasties were served up to visitors, and the sale raised £3,500, pushing the combined total to £13,500.
