A team of friends will attempt a 95-mile fundraising cycle for Otley Rugby Club this weekend.
Neil and Andy Hargreaves, Pete Latham, Steve Cooper, Craig Thornton and Gareth Bibby normally enjoy a slightly gentler Sunday morning ride together.
But on Saturday, they will be setting off on an Otley to Hull route hoping to raise as much money as they can for the club they all have strong connections with and support.
Mr Hargreaves, 46, said: “We all cycle together on Sundays anyway as a social thing, and this just grew from having the idea we could cycle to somewhere to raise a bit of money for the club.
“We’ll end up doing about 95 miles as we’ll be staying off the main roads and taking some back routes. It will let us give something back to the club while also keeping fit.
“We’ve done a bit of extra training to prepare, and we’ve put sponsorship sheets up at the club and some of the local schools and businesses.
“We haven’t set a target but will be happy with whatever we get to support the club.”
