Warning over bogus solicitors calls

People have been warned to watch out for calls from bogus solicitors after a false company tried to con people.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has warned the public to be wary if they are contacted by anyone claiming to be from Adams and Adams Solicitors.

People claiming to be from Adams and Adams have contacted residents, using the e-mail address adamscham ber@hotmail.co.uk, claiming the recipient is a beneficiary of an estate and requesting payment to carry out work to protect their inheritance.

But the SRA does not regulate or authorise such a company.

An SRA spokesman said: “We have had calls from the North and the South of the country.

“We would warn residents in the Bradford district to be aware of solicitors calling them up in this way.”
