Musical moment with Elvis at Burley nursing home
The King and Ol’ Blue Eyes called in at a Burley-in-Wharfedale nursing home ahead of a week of musical celebrations.
Residents at Burley Hall Nursing Home are preparing to bring musical eras and legends to life to mark Bupa’s Musical Moments week.
The initiative celebrates music through the ages and is aimed at promoting the therapeutic benefits that music offers older people in terms of increasing wellbeing and engagement.
The home invited members of the community to join staff and residents on Monday at a 20s to 60s-themed musical party.
Bupa’s Musical Moments week is supported by Music in Hospitals, a national charity which provides professional concerts to help improve the lives of those in care. Bupa and Music in Hospitals have been working together for nearly 20 years to bring the benefits of live music to those most in need.
