Proposal to reduce speeds through Bramhope
8:00am Sunday 16th September 2012 in Local news
A reduction of the speed limits on the A660 through Bramhope is being proposed by Leeds City Council.
Residents are now being invited to have their say on the scheme for the main road from Leeds to Otley.
Lowering of limits are part of a review of road speeds local authorities have been asked to carry out by the Department of Transport.
They are contained in an order issued by the council to change or maintain speed limits in Otley Road.
If the changes are implemented, the limit from Kinglsey Drive in Adel to Kings Road round-about in Bramhope will be cut from 60 to 50 miles an hour.
The council is plan-ning to keep a 40mph speed limit from Lawn-swood roundabout to New Adel Lane, as well as for the stretch from the roundabout at Kings Road in Bramhope to just past the entrance of Quarry Road in Pool.
A reduction from 40mph to 30mph is proposed on the A660 from New Adel Lane to Kingsley Drive.
