Young models for The Wendy House and Promises take part in the Macmillan fashion show at Ilkley’s Craiglands Hotel
Olympic-themed fashion and a gymnastics display helped Ilkley’s Macmillan Cancer Support Committee raise thousands of pounds and celebrate a landmark anniversary.
The committee marked its 20 years of fundraising with the Olympic theme fashion show at Ilkley’s Craiglands Hotel last month.
More than 200 guests attended the event, including the head of Macmillan’s regional fundraising, John English.
Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, as well as individuals who gave their time to help, more than £7,000 was raised for the charity, which provides nursing and support for cancer patients and their loved ones.
John Thirlwell was the master of ceremonies and spring fashions were showcased by local retailers Maradadi, The Wendy House, Promises, The Fitting Room, Rag Doll of Pudsey, Viyella, CC and Austin Reed Menswear (Leeds).
Guests enjoyed browsing the craft stalls and pre-show entertainment was provided by a display of gymnastics by Ilkley Gym Club and poetry reading by members of Westville House School.
