Two robbers are still on the run after escaping with cash during an attack outside a post office.
The masked assailants escaped after threatening their victims with a hammer and knife in the attack near Menston post office on Monday.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to help as they attempt to hunt down the attackers.
They say the incident happened after the man and woman were approached and threatened by two men with their faces covered.
The robbers forced their female victim to hand over her bag and then took them back to their car before fleeing with a quantity of cash.
Airedale and North Bradford CID are now investigating the incident which took place at 12.24am outside the post office on Main Street, Menston.
Both victims were left shocked but otherwise unhurt after the robbery and the suspects are believed to have fled in a dark coloured, possibly red, Skoda Octavia estate.
Police, who say the suspects are both thought to be white, are now appealing for witnesses.
Detective Inspector Mark Long of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “This was clearly a distressing incident for the victims and is an extremely unusual offence for the Menston area.
“Clearly we are keen to catch these men as quickly as possible and would like to speak to anyone with information or who witnessed the offence.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who saw a dark-coloured, possibly red, Skoda Octavia flee the scene or pull up outside the post office shortly before the incident took place.
“If anyone has seen such vehicle parked in unusual circumstances we would like them to get in touch.
He added: “A range of enquiries are ongoing by detectives and anyone who has information can contact Airedale and North Bradford CID on the 101 non-emergency number or CrimeStoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.”
