Bosses at Leeds-Bradford International Airport are flying high after the airport was named as the best performing airport from April to June.
Punctuality statistics by the Civil Aviation Authority showed LBIA had the highest on-time performance, with 89 per cent of flights arriving on time, and the shortest average delay, which was just five minutes.
The airport's main scheduled airline, Jet2.com, also came top in a punctuality list of low cost airlines operating in the UK.
Online flight data specialists, flightontime.info, confirmed the airline's position after analysing official CAA flight data over 12 months.
Peter Willis, operations director at LBIA, said: "We are delighted to be the best performing overall airport for punctuality this spring, by working very closely with our airline partners and having strict measures in place, we continually strive to keep flight delays to a minimum.
"I commend the hard work of our staff and with their commitment we will continue to provide a pleasant experience for our passengers when they travel through Leeds Bradford International Airport."
Jonathan Alcock, marketing manager at Jet2.com, said: "This is great news for business and leisure travellers across the Yorkshire region and, of course, really important for visitors coming into the area."
